2017-2018 Winter IDPA Practice - Saturday mornings

Shooting will start at 10:00 a.m. after the Shooter's meeting / Safety Briefing and stop at 12 noon.  Cost is $10.

Registration will open at 8:30 a.m and close promptly at 9:45 a.m. to allow the limited staff time to obtain waiver signatures, squad shooters, and prepare score sheets.

·         Bring your usual IDPA gear. USPSA / IPSC gear welcome as well.

·         Squads are kept as small as possible. We typically go thru about 150+ rounds. You are welcome to stop shooting sooner.

·         High-cap mags may be filled to capacity if desired. 22 caliber pistols are also allowed. No concealment required.

·         You may alter the courses of fire to help you train on the things you wish to practice. Just let the Safety Officer know...

Bonus: WCRHC IDPA Safety Officers who worked at least 3 matches during the 2017 Season shoot for FREE - whether they are helping or just shooting.

This is my way of saying " Thank you for your support throughout the year!!!  "

NOTE: Please check the top of this page before venturing out to a practice.

If it is cancelled due to ice, snow, or unsafe conditions, I will post a cancellation by 8:00 a.m. the morning of the practice.

What is IDPA ?

From IDPA.com: “IDPA is the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated ‘real world’ self-defense scenarios using practical handguns and holsters that are suitable for self-defense use.  The main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual.

IDPA at Wayne County Raccoon Hunters Club

All IDPA Matches, Practices, and Classifiers are open to the public. You do not need to be a member of the Raccoon Hunters Club.

IDPA Matches

Our IDPA Match Days are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month,  April thru October.  We run 2 matches with start times of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  In-person Sign-Up / Registration opens one (1) hour before each match and closes promptly 15 minutes before the start of each match (9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. respectively) to allow the staff time to complete the registration and squadding.   The cost is $20 per shooter.  Any additional matches will be posted in the IDPA Special Events and News section below.  ALL events are also posted in the Events Calendar on the Home Page  of our Website.

The Shooter’s Meeting / Safety Briefing starts 15 minutes before each match.  Everyone registered before that meeting starts,  has 2 chances to win a free pass (value $20) to any IDPA match we run that year.  ( A small token of our appreciation for showing up on time and not disrupting the squads! )

NOTE:  At this time, we are not allowing  the use of PCC guns in our IDPA matches. Once a policy has been established for how to run this division, and our Safety Officers trained on how to safely supervise their operation, we will revisit the issue.

 IDPA Practices

Summer IDPA Practices are held every Wednesday, April thru September.  In-person Sign-Up / Registration opens at 5:00. The cost is $10 per shooter.   Practice starts promptly at 6:00pm.
